An ERP or an Enterprise Resource Planning system, is software that allows businesses to manage their operations in an integrated manner, making data and transactions available across the entire business. As an example, if I create a product in the system, the product would be available to create purchases, manage it as inventory as well as be able to sell it. At the same time, these transactions, say creating a sale, upon completing and registering the sale, would automatically register the income of funds in my cash register, lower the amount of available inventory, and register the sale in the accounting system.

BIMS ERP works for many different type of businesses. The core functionality of the ERP applies to nearly all businesses that sell products, services or both, and allows them to manage their day to day operations. BIMS does have however, specialized modules for specific types of businesses. We recommend you look at the specific modules and their functionality or feel free to contact us with specific questions and we will be happy to work with you to understand your specific needs.

Your monthly subscription is your only ongoing cost for using BIMS ERP. Your subscription includes the use of the system and all the contracted specialized modules, additional users and point of sale terminals in your subscription. It also includes the cost of hosting the software on Google Cloud Services, the maintenance of the software where we manage all updates, backups, and data restoration services. You also receive all updates and bug fixes – these are applied on a weekly basis. Lastly, you get integrated technical support by using the integrated in-app chat Intercom. E-invoices and other external services that may be required by your specific jurisdiction/country may require you to incur additional costs.

We use an agile project management methodology called SCRUM to implement BIMS ERP. We have many years of experience with excellent results applying this methodology. This approach uses “time boxing” called Sprints. These are short periods of time in which the project team focuses on achieving a specific and measurable goal or product. We run these Sprints in one week periods.

Normally we are able to implement projects within two to four Sprints or weeks, which can run consecutively or be spread out over time. The cost of your particular project is determined by its complexity and the number of Sprits required.

We will be happy to work with you to scope out the size and complexity of your project to help you work on a budget.

BIMS was designed with a lot of flexibility in mind, so many of the different type of master data sets are possible to load directly from Excel spreadsheets. Some of these include Products, Sales Orders, Procurement Orders, Inventory Transfers. At the same time, it is possible to export data in Excel format as well from most reports, as well as be able to create personalized filters.

Agile SCRUM is a project management methodology developed by Jefferey Sutherland that initially was used for software development, but today can be used in everything from construction to homeschooling.

SCRUM is based on the concept of “Time Boxing” to execute a specific amount of tasks in a finite amount of time – usually one or two week blocks. This “time box” is called a Sprint. In the Sprint the project team executes a number of tasks that will provide a measurable and usable product at the end. Each task is not sized in time, as is common in project management, but rather in points, usually called Sprint points.

These points measure the complexity of a tasks, as this is a much easier and accurate unit of measure for humans to estimate and usually we employ the Fibonacci sequence (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13…) – which adds the number you are on plus the previous number in the sequence. This gives you the ability to make a distinction between values. It is much easier to distinguish between something size 5 and 8, than say 5 and 6.
